CRC at the TNP TT Race Report- two rising stars make a mark

Under the blazing hot conditions, several impressive performances were put in today at the Richmond TNP TT today.

Nichole Kelleher put in a blazing 38:54 for Second in the Womens 4 (note, her time was only 3 seconds off the Womens 1,2,3 2nd place time, despite riding on a borrowed bike- Jake Kings, without a disk or much aero gear). As those who have ridden with Nichole on the Saturday and Thursday rides can attest, she has the talent to do some serious damage.

Cathy Von Storch put up a 40:49, good for 5th in the Women’s 4 (and only 8 seconds off the Womens 40+ 3rd place time). Cathy is still cross training for tris, so she put up this impressive time then probably went for a run!

For our new Masters TT Racer’s- Frank Christophersen put up a 39:05 (14th) and Jeff Hazlett put up a 40:46 (15th) in the insanely tough Mens Masters 40+. Put it this way, my time of 35:41 only got me 9th place, with the 4 people ahead of me grouped within 26 seconds of my time. Which probably explains why Masters racing looks like a rolling Interbike- mere seconds really do matter. Although I have a little something up my sleeve for next weekend. . . .

In the Masters 50+ Michael Libby put up a strong 38:08, and everyone’s favorite cross crazy, flyin’ Fred Wittwer, rode to a strong early season (for him) 36:09.

Well done all.
