Free Trainer Sessions return- Tuesday night!

Ladies & Gentlemen
This time of year it is difficult to ride in the evenings due to darkness….but that does not mean you have to miss your weekday training. On Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm you can join the trainer sessions at the store. The sessions are free! Bring your bicycle, a floor mat and a trainer and be ready to roll at 6:30 (no helmet or night lights required). If you do not have a trainer and mat you can rent them for $5. If you have a trainer but no mat we have mats for rent for $2 (we must protect the floor and carpet from sweat). If you are renting try to arrive 15 minutes early so we can get you set up in time. Trainers and mats are on sale at 10% off through 24 Dec (club discounts apply). There are only 5 rental trainers so I recommend you reserve one by calling the store 434-975-1900. Max attendance : ~25.

The instructors (pain masters) are Eric Fletcher on Tuesday and Kate Lucas on Thursday. The Tuesday session will focus on both aerobic and strength training. The Thursday session is more focused on aerobic training. From time to time there will be guest instructors. For those unfamiliar with trainer sessions, the instructors will guide you through a set of intervals, varying intensity (how hard you pedal) and cadence (how fast you pedal) while listening to energized music and the shouts (encouragement, admonishment) of your instructors. Be warned in advance of Eric’s one legged drills…very tough. Bottom line, it is a great way to stay in shape and a great way to improve both aerobic fitness and strength.

This week there will only be a Tuesday session as the store is closed on Thanksgiving Day. Sessions will continue through sometime in March.

The session is only one hour so you probably only need water, no energy products or electrolytes. I recommend that you wear your cycling shorts and gloves, and bring a towel to protect your bicycle from sweat.

If you have any questions or concerns, let me know.
